Function description

2.1. Mission

The Key Account Manager(KAM) Europe develops and prospects new customers in the out of home channel.

He/she works in close collaboration with the Commercial Director and dedicated internal sales key accounts. He/she is a strong individual able to make the difference in both the “business building” activities and “customer relationships”. The KAM Europe reports to the Commercial Director.

2.2. Key Accountabilities

The Key Account Manager Europe:

  • Acts as figurehead within his customer base;
  • Recommends on priority setting  and  insures flawless in-market execution;
  • Actively prospects key customers and drives the Gourmand turnover according to the business plan objectives;
  • Is responsible for the key customer in his/her area. Other areas might be added depending on the business development and personal achievements;
  • Consistently tracks & reviews business performance against AOP & impact of all major activities and takes corrective action when necessary;
  • Develops customer activities to maximize the growth;
  • These business building activities must reflect the Gourmand vision and be aligned with the customers strategies. They are elaborated hand in hand with the operations team and are perfectly implemented;
  • Manages direct as well as indirect key customers and channels;
  • Evaluates the main activities and gives feedback to the internal stakeholders and customer.



University degree or equal by experience.


At least tri-lingual (English/Dutch/French). Knowledge of other languages is appreciated.


  • Min. 7 years sales experience in the FMCG industry, ideally in the OOH/Retail Channel
  • Relevant experience with private label is a must.
  • Min. 5 years sales Experience towards OOH/Retail Key Accounts.
  • Open to travel 20 à 25% in Europe. A first experience on a European position is a plus.
  • Successful track record in delivering business targets & plans in a highly competitive environment.

Communicates in appropriate, clear and concise terms, checks



understanding while communicating; is structured and gives accurate



and logical information in written reports. Keeps to the point, adjust



communication style to suit audience. Structures arguments well, has



a logical approach. Gives comprehensive coverage without getting



bogged down in details.
